Eos tutorial

Computational origami system Eos is designed to study the mathematical aspects of paper folds. It includes capabilities of modeling fold operations by algebraic and symbolic methods, computer simulation of paper folding, and proving the correctness of geometrical properties of constructed origami. Requirements: Eos is a collection of packages implemented using Mathematica. Before you install and use Eos, make sure that you have Mathematica 9 or 10 installed on your machine. We don' t guarantee that Eos functions will work for earlier versions of Mathematica. Eos can be installed and used on Windows, Mac and Linux machines.


To use Eos and run the examples in the tutorial, you need Mathematica 9 or 10. In case you do not have Mathematica installation, you can read Eos tutorial with Wolfram CDF player.


Download the file Eos.zip and unzip it. You will obtain a folder Eos that contains a folder OrigamiBasics and a file OrigamiBasics.m. Do not rename the files and the folders.

Loading and Using Eos

The file Tutorial.nb shows how to use Eos to perform origami constructions and prove their correctness. Follow the tutorial to understand the initialization of Eos environment, the syntax of Eos language Orikoto, etc. The final section of the file contains computational origami examples.
